Microsoft’s Future Vision Series: Microsoft’s Future Vision on Banking (HD Quality)

July 3rd, 2009

“Imagine a banking experience where youre always connected to your finances, banks are empowered to anticipate your needs, and transactions are seamless through predictive technologies whether youre in the branch, at home, or on the go.

As you watch this video from 2005, look for examples of how current prototypes may evolve in the years ahead. When youre done, tell us what you think and what youd like to see in the technology of tomorrow.

While its hard to predict exactly how technology will unfold, we are constantly researching, looking forward, and gathering insights to imagine how technology investments today can improve peoples way of life in the future.”

We could see touch surfaces, seamless authorizing and data transfer. The Future is happening; The Future is Now.

    Don’t be so sure… …
Don’t be so sure…You are “paying” not just with a cashier…This stuff will be a reality in 5 years..Don’t believe me? Look up the law of compound interest vs technology.I give it 5 years max. You’ll see more things in the next 5 to 8 years than you have seen your whole life. Most of this stuff is already in existance in the lab but hasn’t been put out in the marketplace.

    No money, period? …
No money, period? Do you mean “no cash”?

I think no cash would be a good idea. If everyone just had one of these “everything devices” like the ones in this vid, then it would be fairly simple to just have it automatically check out your stuff on your way out.

    What or rather when …
What or rather when will this technology be implemented? Is there a projection of when tech like this will be commonplace? 2020 perhaps?

    I like that world. …
I like that world. The way I see it is were never going to need Robots because actual technology advances and simplifies much too fast for Robots to be plausible.

    We might just come …
We might just come to a realization in the future, that money and global currency is inefficient.

Imagine going into a store, picking up your daily list of toiletries, groceries, etc. and walking right out, without paying.

Of course.. Nothing like that would happen anytime soon.

    everything looks …
everything looks neat, beautiful and efficient, except for one thing: there are no freaking banks in my future! By that time we will surely realize they are absolutely pointless

    t5productions,

    t5productions,

Thanks! I tried to find all the Future Vision videos in high quality. The only one I am having trouble with is the Manufacturing Vision, and now that I think about it, the Full 5 Minute Productivity Vision that was just released this past week. I have the Montage, not the 5 minute version..

Again thanks for the kind words :D
