For eBay users: Is it OK to give out personal banking information on the seller’s personal email after…

after you’ve purchased an item?
I’m talking about my credit card number, along with my name and expiration date.
Thanks
Sure, if you wish to get ripped off by EVERYBODY!
Credit card numbers should only go to thru a proper clearance agent, like Paypal.

There’s no way I would do it. It sounds very unsafe to me. You should try Paypal, it’s quick and easy, and you can start using it right away.

No not at all ever. Use paypal.. Its secure and safe. DO NOT do that ever. You will get ripped off for sure even if its through ebay. Would you post your info on here? I think not.

I would avoid it if I were you. It’s not necessarily a scam, but I wouldn’t send my credit card info by email. It’s not very secure. They should be able to accept pay pal, a check, or a money order. Don’t risk it.

I wouldnt recommend that. Who’s to say they wont steal that information and rack up a giant bill and then it falls back on you? Use PayPal, its safer.

You should NEVER give out your banking or credit card information through e-mail. Anyone can then charge your credit card to max. If you are purchasing an item from someone on e-bay, you need to use a secure form of paying such as paypal. If someone from ebay is asking for your financial information in an e-mail, you need to report them to ebay help.
Hope this helps!
