How can I protect my life savings against judgement (judgement proof)?

I have a small amount of savings (less than 50K) in a US-based Internet bank. Currently my company is being sued for a large amount of money. Though (for many reasons) I doubt they’ll get to my personal accounts I’d really like to not take a chance and somehow protect it. Offshore seems to risky and costly for this small amount of money. Any other ideas?

Put it into an annuity. Nobody can touch it there.
