The government has proposed amendments to the central bank of Kenya act to allow banks to offer more electronic banking services. Finance minister, Uhuru Kenyatta says currently more than 6.5 million Kenyans are using mobile phone money transfer services and this is an avenue banks can exploit to reach majority of Kenyans.
